THE draws for the Limerick club hurling and football championships are to take place at Annual Convention on Thursday night December 15.
The annual gathering of the club delegates is to take place in the Greenhills Hotel, starting at 7pm.
This week’s Special County Board meeting decided that there is to be no structural change to the top three tiers of the club hurling championship. There had been proposed changes to the format of a number of different grades, but most were rejected.
For 2017 the one change is that only one side will be relegated and promoted between the varying hurling grades.
In the Limerick SHC, the 12 teams will again be drawn into two groups of six. Finalists Patrickswell and Ballybrown will be in opposite groups, as will beaten semi finalists Kilmallock and Adare. The remaining teams are Na Piarsaigh, Doon, Ahane, South LIberties, Knockainey, Bruff, Monaleen and Cappamore.
In the Limerick Premier IHC the eight teams are already known – Blackrock, Effin, Garryspillane, Bruree, Murroe-Boher, Feohanagh-Castlemahon, Mungret St Pauls and Pallasgreen. A draw will take place to determine the fixture list.

The format for the Limerick SFC will be the same as the SHC. Finalists Monaleen and Dromcollogher-Broadford will be drawn into separate groups. Beaten semi finalists Na Piarsaigh and St Patricks will also be in opposite groups. The remaining teams are Newcastle West, Ballylanders, St Kierans, Rathkeale, Oola, Ballysteen, Fr Caseys and Adare.
In the Limerick IFC, the 12 teams will be drawn into two groups of six.
