THE Limerick IFC final takes place this Saturday (3.00) with Adare playing St Senans in Askeaton.
When these sides met in the group stages back on July 29 it finished all-square and indications are that little will seperate the sides in this final.
Adare are attempting to make an immediate return to the senior grade, while St Senans are attempting to end a stay of four years in the second tier of the club football championship.
Adare will have a number of players looking to bounce back from their senior hurling semi final loss to Ballybrown on Sunday. Davy Lyons, Diarmuid Sexton, Neil Mulvihill and Andrew O’Connell are among the dual players expected to start for the footballers.
St Senans will look to inter-county men Ian Ryan and James Naughton to lead their title ambitions. Others key for the Foynes-Shanagolden outfit are Conor Mullane, Maurice Fitzgerald and Adam Kearns.
Limerick SFC finalists back in 2006, St Senans were beaten in the 2014 Limerick IFC – that final was also in Askeaton and Na Piarsaigh were the victors.
The Limerick winners are due in Munster club IFC action on October 29/30 against the Waterford champions.
