Limerick SHC previews

THE Gaelic Grounds hosts a Limerick SHC double-bill this Sunday afternoon.

First up is the opening semi final, followed by a quarter final replay.

The Limerick SHC final is in the fixture list for October 23. The Limerick SHC winners will be attempting to win a fourth successive Munster title for the county. They will be directly into a November 6 provincial semi final against Cork – Glen Rovers or Erins Own.

 

LIMERICK SHC SEMI FINAL

Patrickswell v Kilmallock

Sunday October 2 in the Gaelic Grounds at 2.00

In this semi final, these sides are bidding to be the first to book their place behind the band on county final day.

When they met in the group stages last year, The Well were 1-18 to 0-19 winners.

The Gary Kirby managed Patrickswell have a concern over goalkeeper Brian Murray.

While Patrickswell were quarter final winners last weekened, Kilmallock arrive in the semi final unbeaten as group winners. They had Kevin O’Donnell and Robbie Hanley back in their plans in their final group win after missing earlier rounds.

Ahane v Ballybrown

Sunday October 2 in the Gaelic Grounds at 3.45

Two late Tom Morrissey frees ensured this quarter final finished 0-14 each last Sunday.

Adare await the winners in the October 9 semi final.

Free-takers Tom Morrissey and Alan O’Connor both fit nine points from frees last Sunday and both managers will seek more from their respective attacks.
