Fr Caseys and St Patricks renew rivalry in Limerick SFC quarter final

FAVOURITES Monaleen await the winner of this Saturday’s second Limerick SFC quarter final between Fr Caseys and St Patricks.

Rathkeale’s Mick Neville Park hosts the quarter final at 5.30.

This game is a repeat of the 2014 semi final, which St Patricks won, before losing the final to Ballylanders.

Despite the loss through injury of top forward Eoin Hanrahan, St Patricks are undefeated since a round one loss to St Kierans back in April.

With Gearoid Hegarty and John Mullane leading the way the city men drew with Na Piarsaigh in their final game but beat Drom-Broadford, Ballylanders and Oola.

Abbeyfeale’s Fr Caseys are managed by John Colbert and drew one, won two and lost two of their group games. The two defeats came in the last two rounds of action – both to sides also progressing to the knockout stages; Monaleen and Newcastle West.

Maurice Gleeson will be out injured for Fr Caseys, who are captained by John Riordan.

Monaleen, the only undefeated team left in the championship, await the winner in the semi final.
