A LATE penalty from Ian Keatley helped Munster to a hard-earned 16-13 win over Treviso in Italy this Sunday afternoon.
Munster took the lead early on when Gerhard van den Heever went over after the forwards had made the hard yards. But the home side were 7-5 up at the break, a try from Number 8 Robert Barbieri which was converted by Jayden Hayward.
Hayward added a penalty early in the second half to stretch the lead to 10-5 but Munster were back on level terms when Francis Saili touched down after Andrew Conway chipped through.
Keatley missed the conversion and Treviso went back into the lead when Hayward added another penalty.
But Munster managed to pull through. Keatley levelled things up with 11 minutes remaining with a penalty and then kicked the winner with five minutes left. Dave Kilcoyne was yellow-carded late on but Munster survived and avoided their third loss in a row.
