Paul Kinnerk to resume coaching role with Clare senior hurlers

LIMERICK’S Paul Kinnerk has rejoined the Clare senior hurling set-up.

It was confirmed this Wednesday that the Monaleen man had returned to Davy Fitzgerald’s management as a selector-coach.

The former Limerick footballer coached their All Ireland 2013 winning side but opted out for 2015 and it thought that he wasn’t to be involved in 2016.

Kinnerk’s role as Head Coach of Limerick’s Underage Football Academy and advisor to Limerick’s Underage Hurling Academy and minor hurlers is not to be affected by his return to The Banner backroom team.

"I am delighted to welcome Paul back into our setup as his experience, expertise and knowledge of the existing panel of players will complement what is already a high quality backroom team," confirmed Davy Fitzgerald.

"I initially spoke with Paul during last summer, and then several times throughout the winter about getting him involved with Clare for the 2016 season but due to personal commitments he was unable to consider the invitation until very recently.”

He continued: "The existing coaching staff of Donal Óg Cusack (coach/selector), Aonghus O'Brien (coach) and Seoirse Bulfin (coach) have been part of this process having met with Paul, and they are delighted to welcome him into the coaching setup”.
