Limerick senior hurling manager TJ Ryan has made eight changes to his side for Sunday’s Munster Hurling League game against Waterford.

Limerick were comfortable 2-23 to 0-18 winners over Ciaran Carey’s Kerry side in last weekend’s opening round but will expect a much tougher challenge when they travel to the WIT grounds this Sunday.

Last year’s U-21 centre-back Barry O’Connell gets his debut for the senior side while there are also starting spots for Richie English, Pat Ryan, Cian Lynch and Darragh O’Donovan.

Barry Hennessy starts in goals instead of captain Nickie Quaid while Tom Condon make his first appearance of the season at corner-back. Dan Morrissey continues at full-back, Seamus Hickey at wing-back and Declan Hannon at full-forward.

Sunday will mark Waterford’s first outing of the year as they had a bye in the opening round. In the other game this weekend Cork play Kerry.

The Limerick team in full is: Barry Hennessy; Tom Condon, Dan Morrissey, Richie English; Seanie O’Brien, Barry O’Connell, Seamus Hickey; James Ryan, Pat Ryan; Darragh O’Donovan, Cian Lynch, David Reidy; Thomas O’Brien, Declan Hannon, Sean Tobin
