MUNSTER will begin their bid for glory in the inaugural European Champions Cup away to Sale Sharks at AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday, October 18 at 1pm.
EPCR (European Professional Club Rugby) have also confirmed that, following a six day turnaround, Saracens will become the first side to face the province in Champions Cup action at Thomond Park on Friday, October 24 at 7.45pm.
While the Sale clash will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, the round two clash against 2014 beaten Heineken Cup finalists Saracens will be televised live by BT Sports.
All 20 games in Rounds 1 and 2 will be broadcast live on either BT Sport or Sky Sports.
December will see back to back European Champions Cup encounters against Clermont Auvergne, the French outfit making the trip to Thomond Park on the weekend of December 5-7, ahead of the return encounter a week later. Munster last faced Clermont in the 2013 Heineken Cup semi-final, the Frenchmen taking the spoils on the day 16-10.
London is the provinces’ first European port of call in January, as Munster travel to Saracens on January 15-17 before a final pool encounter at home to Sale Sharks on January 23-25.
The dates, venues and kick-off times for Rounds 3 and 4 of the European Champions Cup will be announced in the coming weeks, with further details of the Rounds 5 and 6 fixtures confirmed in December after the completion of Round 4.
