Bradley Dack’s stunning first half free-kick secured a 1-1 draw for Gillingham against Barnet at Priestfield.
The visitors took the lead just before the 20-minute mark when Idris Kanu held off a challenge from Max Clark before deliveirng a low ball into Callum Stead whose delicate touch found the bottom left corner.
Lee Ndlovu nearly doubled the advantage, but his close-range header went over the top.
Bradley Dack came closest to drawing the Gills level, but his effort was well saved by Cieran Slicker. The former Blackburn man was needed at the other end shortly after to clear Ryan Glover’s effort off the line.
On the stroke of half-time it was Dack who finally did get Gills back on level terms. His free-kick, 25 yards out, was perfectly struck into the top corner with Slicker at full stretch.
Kane Smith tried an effort from range shortly after the interval, but his powerful drive just cleared the bar.
Neither goalkeeper was overly tested in the second half, with both teams forced to share the points.
