Liverpool and Salah’s form has come under scrutiny during a recent losing run but even as the Egyptian’s goals and assists have declined from last season’s stunning numbers, he continues to rack up new achievements.
He is only the third player to reach 250 goals for the club in all competitions, with Roger Hunt next ahead of him on the list with 285 and Ian Rush holding the record of 346.
Salah has scored 188 of those goals in the Premier League, adding 88 assists since joining the Reds in 2017 for a combined total of 276 to match Rooney’s record for a single club.
Rooney scored 183 league goals in his 13 seasons at Manchester United and set up another 93.
Those figures came in 393 appearances, with Salah having played just 298 league games for Liverpool.
The latter’s best goalscoring season was 2017-18, his first at Anfield, with 32 while last season brought his best combined total of 47 with 29 goals and 18 assists as he led the Premier League in both categories.
Salah had an additional two goals and an assist during his brief spell at Chelsea earlier in his career, giving him a combined total of 279 for his Premier League career.
That takes him level with Frank Lampard for third place in the combined goals and assists chart in the Premier League era.
Lampard’s total of 279 consisted of 177 goals and 102 assists in 609 appearances for Chelsea, West Ham and Manchester City.
Rooney had 208 goals and 103 assists with his two spells at Everton included, for a combined tally of 311 in 491 games.
That ranks behind only Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s record scorer with 260 goals – who added 64 assists for a total of 324 in 441 appearances.
The only other players to top 250 combined goals and assists were former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs, with 109 goals and a record 162 assists in 632 games, Andy Cole with 187 goals and 73 assists in 414 games and Harry Kane with 213 and 46 in 320 appearances.
