Quinn expecting mighty performance from Jm Jungle

John Quinn is confident Jm Jungle can make his mark in the Prix de l’Abbaye, when the in-form sprinter will attempt to recreate the heroics of former stable star Highfield Princess at ParisLongchamp.

The Malton handler had sent out both El Astronaute (2019) and Liberty Beach (2020) to finish third before Highfield Princess’ triumphant visit to the French capital on her penultimate start in 2023.

Quinn will now bid to add his name to the roll of honour alongside training partner and son Sean when they send Jm Jungle on his Arc day raid – and believes the five-year-old has all the right attributes to be in the mix after a fine season which has seen him take the move up to Group company in his stride.

“We’re absolutely happy with Jm Jungle, he’s in good nick and I think he’ll like the track, so we’ll look forward to running him,” said Quinn of the King George Stakes winner, who was not disgraced when sixth in the Nunthorpe last time.

“I think he’s got that early speed you need at Longchamp, I just hope he gets a reasonable draw.

“From the three runners we’ve had in the race, Highfield Princess won it and Liberty Beach went close and El Astronaute was also third in it. A winner and two placed isn’t bad, so let’s hope we can keep rolling. I think Jm Jungle has the right profile and he’s in good form.

“He’s a great horse and all ground comes alike to him and he wouldn’t mind a bit of ease in the ground. Some horses might not go on it, but he does, he goes on all ground.”
