Regan Linney continued his stunning start to the season by helping Carlisle condemn former club Altrincham to a 2-1 defeat in the National League.
Linney made it nine goals for the season and scored for the fourth game running when he rifled a 25-yard effort into the top corner 10 minutes before half-time.
The visitors had taken a ninth-minute lead with Lewis Bank credited with an own goal after challenging with Georgie Kelly, who was then penalised for a foul on Banks 10 minutes, later which resulted in Jimmy Knowles levelling from the penalty spot.
Knowles missed an open goal prior to half-time and Carlisle were then reduced to 10 men when Cameron Harper was sent off nine minutes after the break for a second bookable offence. But they held on for a fourth successive win, with Tom Crawford seeing red for Alty late on.
