Out-of-form Oldham remain in play-off spots despite draw at Tamworth

Oldham’s winless run extended to seven matches following a 1-1 draw at Tamworth in the National League.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 35th minute after Mike Fondop was brought down by Cameron Cockerill-Mollett in the penalty area, with Joe Pritchard slotting home the spot-kick.

Tamworth equalised seven minutes later when Ronan Maher’s brilliant left-wing cross found Dan Creaney to head past keeper Tom Donaghy for his fourth goal in three games.

Neither side could find the winner despite good efforts from Creaney and Oldham forward Jesurun Uchegbulam in the second half.

The Latics remain in fifth despite their recent form, while Tamworth sit seven points adrift of the play-offs in 11th.
