THE Limerick Masters football panel has been announced ahead of their 2024 championship season this Friday evening. 

Holders Limerick begin their championship campaign against neighbours Clare this Friday May 10 in Clarecastle at 7pm.

The Shannonsiders will face London, Waterford, Cork, Mayo and Kerry in their remaining group games. 

The Masters squad have been training in UL , Clarina , Mountcollins and St Patrick's to promote Masters football throughout the county. 

Michael Reidy, Patrick Donnelly, Ray Lynch, Dermot Phelan, John O’Connell and Eddie Mulcahy, who have all lined out for Limerick senior footballers, are part of this year's masters squad. 

Last year was the first year of the Limerick Masters (Over 40s) football team, Anthony McCarthy was manager in 2023 and he takes the reins again this year. McCarthy is ably assisted Jason Daly and Katie Lynch.

In 2023, Limerick defeated Armagh 2-14 to 1-13 after extra-time in the All-Ireland final to claim the 'Spirit Cup' in Kiltoom, Co Roscommon.
