Two senior losses after busy weekend for Limerick Cricket Club

The Limerick Cricket Club second XI that lost to Nenagh last weekend.

LIMERICK Cricket Club had another busy weekend of action with two adult teams and three youth sides playing important fixtures.

The second XI were in Division One action on Saturday in their final game before the table gets split and knew a win was needed to finish in the top half.

Captain Dharmesh Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first and Limerick reduced Nenagh to 171 all out. Sarfraz Ramay put in impressive figures of 4-33.

The same man was the best player with Ramay scoring 47 in the reply. However, it was not enough to earn victory as the game went to the final over with Limerick reaching 170.

The 3rd XI were also in action at the weekend when they faced United Cricket Clonmel in Lisronagh. They needed a win to have any hope of reaching the top half but things did not go their way on the day.

Karthik Karur with 22 runs top scored for Limerick but it was part of a low 85 total against a strong Clonmel outfit. It proved to be nowhere near enough as they reached the target with six wickets to spare. Naveed Zazai did impress, however, with figures of 3-13.

There were better fortunes for the youth sides which saw two victories for the U15 and U13 sides, while the U17 lost in their fixture.

The U13 and U15 sides beat Cork County, while the U17 side lost to the same opposition.
