TREATY United will target a fourth successive victory in the SSE Airtricity League First Division when facing Longford Town at Bishopsgate on Saturday.

Lee Devitt and substitute Marc Ludden bagged goals for sixth-placed Treaty, who outfoxed Athlone Town at the Markets Field on Friday night to move within just one-point of the play-off places.

Treaty United's excellent run has seen the side move up to sixth place in the First Division table.

Treaty Utd manager Tommy Barrett says the three-game winning streak is huge for the club and their ambitions of challenging for a promotion play-off place.

“It is huge,” he said. “But if anyone in this division goes on a two or three-game winning streak they can get results”.

“Athlone are a really good side. They are up near the top of the league for a reason. They’ve a lot of quality so for us to get three points tonight [Friday] is fantastic.”

“The lads are delighted; they are always delighted when they win and particularly when they play really, really well, like they have tonight [Friday]. And to win three-in-a-row is fantastic. At the end of the day, it is a game, and these boys are putting in an awful lot of effort. It takes an awful lot of effort to be a footballer in this division.”
