RTÉ Content currently has a vacancy for a Radio Producer in RTÉ lyric fm located in Limerick.
RTÉ lyric fm is a vibrant, dynamic, national music station, part of RTE's Arts and Culture content group.
Reporting to the Head of RTÉ lyric fm, we are looking for a creative, innovative, energetic person to produce within the afternoon schedule. Based in RTÉ lyric fm studios, in Limerick, key to this role is growing the audience by delivering programmes to fit the tempo and tone of lives in Ireland today, with a particular focus on the hours 2.00 - 7.00pm.
As producer you will have direct responsibility for the creation, development and production of innovative and engaging content. We are interested in hearing your thoughts on existing programmes and opportunities to connect and engage with new audiences as the RTÉ lyric brand develops into the 2020’s. This RTÉ lyric fm role will be based in Limerick.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• A knowledge and passion for great music across a range of genres particularly classical, film, new, Irish (traditional and living) and popular culture
• First-hand experience of producing live music radio as well as performance events and broadcast specials including outside broadcasts
• A record in development of strong creative content to connect with new and existing audiences
• Strong editing, scriptwriting, and research skills for broadcast and social content
• Excellent editorial judgement and the capacity to inspire, influence and lead teams and manage stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in digital audio platforms and editing tools
Applicants should be familiar with the RTÉ lyric fm schedule and have ideas on growing audiences, new voices and new content and the repurposing of this content for social and digital platforms. Expertise in the management of creative, logistical, technical, and administrative support teams across assigned programmes on broadcast and digital platforms is expected. Experience in artist performance and broadcast rights negotiation will be an advantage.
Start Date: August 2023; contract will be on a fixed purpose basis for 14 months.
This appointment will be made on a fixed purpose contract basis on the Radio Producer salary scale of €51,500 p.a to €80,653 gross p.a.
