History was made on Friday night when the the British & Irish Lions played on Irish soil for the first time, ahead of their summer tour of Australia. for the first time, ahead of their summer tour of Australia.

The squad departed for Australia on Saturday ahead of their nine-match tour down under, beginning next Saturday with a match against Western Force in Perth.

The much-anticipated tour, which will see tens of thousands of Lions fans travelling to Australia, will culminate in three test matches against the Wallabies on July 19, July 26 and August 2.

All nine of the British & Irish Lions matches in Australia will be broadcast in Ireland by Sky Sports.
