"WE HAD TO WIN FOR THE FANS" was Andy Farrell's opening statement after his side prevailed against World Champions, South Africa, in a scintillating game in Paris.

The game lived up to hype that surrounded it throughout the week with Ireland dominating the majorty of possession in the first-half and South Africa doing much the same in the second.

Farrell continued by saying the win is "the next step" in Irelands World Cup Journey.

"We are glad to keep rolling and get another four points on the board, but we have to dust ourselves off now and remain focused on Scotland in two weeks time."

After an extremely physical affair against the Boks Andy said that the break in games "has come at the perfect time", to allow players to relax and meet back up with family.
