Rents in Limerick up to over €2,000 per month

MARKET rents in Limerick city have climbed by almost 20% year-on-year, a new report has revealed.

The average rate a tenant will now pay for a home in the city now stands at €2,221, according to the Daft.ie quarterly rental price report, released this Wednesday.

This represents an increase of 8.4% year-on-year outside the city in rural Limerick.

According to the survey, the average rent-per-month of a one-bedroomed apartment in Limerick stood at €1,323.

For a two-bed house, the average rate was €1,576 per month, rising to €1,869 for a three-bedroomed house.

A four-bed would set you back €2,532 on average in the city per month, while a five-bed home is on average €2,730.

In rural Limerick, the average monthly rent stood at €1,019 for a one-bed apartment, €1,190 for a two-bed home, and €1,392 for a three-bed home.

On average, it's a total of €1,620 for a four-bed and €1,624 per month for a five bed.

In terms of room rentals, the Daft.ie report shows that somebody leasing a single room in the city centre would pay €531 per month in the city and €561 in the suburbs.

A double room, on average, would be rented for €707 in the city and €661 in the suburbs.
