Power tools stolen during burglary at home in Limerick town

Information is being sought following the theft of power tools from a home in west Limerick.
The burglary occurred last weekend at a house in the Abbeyfeale area which is currently under renovation.
"The owner of the power tools, a man in his sixties, secured the house but criminals gained entry, sometime overnight on Friday into the early hours of Saturday, and took a Makita Screwdriver Set worth €400, an electrical transformer worth €150, an angle grinder worth €180 and a Hitachi mitre saw worth €800," said divisional crime prevention officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.
Given the value of such tools, the garda advice is to remove as many tools as possible from construction sites every night.
"It is extra work but it is better than having to pay out for replacements," said Sgt Leetch who is also appealing to anybody who is offered similar tools or anything for sale in suspicious circumstances to report the incident to their local garda station.
Gardai at Abbeyfeale are investigating the burglary.
