Community and sporting organisations across Rathkeale, Adare and Askeaton are set to benefit from a range of funding allocations agreed at the recent monthly meeting of the Rathkeale-Adare Municipal District.
Councillors also confirmed the establishment of a dedicated fund to support St Patrick’s Day parades in Adare, Askeaton and Rathkeale. Cllr Bridie Collins, Cllr Tommy Hartigan, Cllr Ger Ward, Cllr Stephen Keary, Cllr John O’Donoghue and Cllr Adam Teskey each contributed €1,000 to the fund.
Among the individual allocations, Cllr John O’Donoghue approved €3,000 for Castlerovers FC.
Cllr Bridie Collins allocated €10,000 to Manor Fields in Adare, along with €8,000 each to Adare GAA and Adare Village Hall, and €1,500 to Rathkeale AFC.

A total of €4,000 was allocated to Coláiste Mhuire in Askeaton, jointly approved by Cllr Ger Ward and Cllr Adam Teskey.
The same councillors jointly allocated a further €4,000 to support a book launch for Embery Close.
In addition, Cllr Ger Ward approved a final allocation of €5,000 for the ABK GAA team.
The funding forms part of ongoing efforts by councillors to support sporting, cultural and community initiatives.
