Local community safety partnership seek new members for Limerick divsion

LIMERICK City and County Council is inviting community representatives to apply to join the Limerick Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP).

The partnership aims to ensure that local safety initiatives are informed by those who know their communities best, reflecting the diversity and experiences across the county.

This is a chance for the public to directly shape safety and wellbeing in their community. The Council is seeking representatives from residents, youth, minority and new communities, social inclusion groups, education, and the business sector.

Applicants should live or work in County Limerick and be able to represent the six electoral areas and LCSP priority groups.
Nominations from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences are especially encouraged.

The LCSP, created under the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, brings together residents, local authorities, An Garda Síochána, the HSE, Tusla, and other public services.

Its purpose is to develop a Community Safety Plan that reflects local needs, encourages trust, and ensures coordinated action across agencies.

Limerick’s LCSP will have up to 30 members, including public services, elected representatives, and community representatives approved by the Minister for Justice.

The partnership will meet at least six times a year, including one public meeting. Applicants are encouraged to fill out expression of interest forms which are available on MyPoint.Limerick.ie and must be submitted by 4pm on Friday, January 30.
