COUNCILLORS have approved the construction of 22 new homes in Moyross.
At the metropolitan district meeting the project to build the homes was given the green light by members.
These will be located on a corner site of the estate, fronting onto Cosgrave Park and Sarsfield Gardens.

The development will feature a three-storey terraced block fronting onto Moyross Road, Sarsfield Gardens and Cosgrave Park where the majority of the new accommodation will be built.
It will be joined by a two-storey block, which will see a two-bedroom four-person maisonette and two one-bedroom apartments.
These houses will be constructed on a site known locally as the Holy Road in the northside estate.
As well as the housing, council says it’s envisaged to include upgrades to the “public realm of Sarsfield Gardens and Cosgrave Park”.
In simple terms, public realm refers to all the places that everyone can use and enjoy, not owned privately by one person.
There will be nine on-street parking spaces and six spots for bicycles.
Council added that two “universal access parking spaces” will also be provided.
These are perhaps more commonly known as disabled parking spaces for cars.
Normally, councillors do not have a veto on housing plans.
But in this case they did as it is being developed by the council on public land.
