WATCH: Limerick streets come alive as Argentinian supporters celebrate World Cup victory

THERE were jubilant scenes in Limerick city this Sunday night as Argentinian supporters took to the streets to celebrate their country's victory in final of the FIFA World Cup.

The final, between the 2018 champions France and Argentina, took place in Doha, Qatar this Sunday afternoon.

The fixture lived up to the hype and expectations with the match finishing 2-2 at full time and 3-3 following extra time.

The South American side went on to win the trophy following a penalty shoot-out which finished 4-2.

Following the match, dozens of fans who had been watching the final in pubs in Limerick city centre flooded onto the streets where they sang and waved flags and banners.
