PICTURES: Fun for all at Kilmallock's St Patrick's parade

Kilmallock Ken and Barbie of the Balbec feature in celebrations!

KILMALLOCK Community Council pulled out all the stops to put on a St Patrick’s Day parade that will be hard to top!

From fire breathers to stilt walkers and the Baalbec Barbies it had it all, not to mind a huge number of taking clubs and organisations marching and numerous floats.

A Kilmallock Community Council spokesperson congratulated everyone who took part in the parade and thanked all who came out and supported it, especially their grand marshal Paul Gammell.

“We would like to thank Canon Michael O’Shea, Fr Chris O’Donnell, our town Mayor Pat ‘Dasher’ Cronin, our local councillors for joining us at the viewing stand and our main sponsors Dansko Foods.”

The judges had a hard job to pick out their favourite parade participants but plumped for Ballyhoura Ceoltas, Kilmallock Kens and Baalbec Barbie’s, Kilmallock Tidy Towns and Cill Mocheallog Bord na Nog

Others to take home prizes on the day were 50/50 winner Sarah O’Riordan taking home a cool €1,566. Generous Super Valu vouchers went to Sunshine Kids teachers in Kilfinane, Tara O’Brien and Emmie Jacob,

“Thank you to our leprechauns who did a great job - Conor, Cian, Sean, Jimmy, Lacey, Mary, Destiny, and to Katie Hedderman, Eabha Carroll and Aoibhinn Collins who sang their Feile Luimni winning song and finished off our parade with Amhran na bhFiann,” said the spokesperson.

Roll on 2026!
