The three-storey, 11,379m² school, located at a 10-acre greenfield site, features 58 teaching spaces.

Alongside the 33 general classrooms, the school has two specialist autism classes, two multimedia labs, a library, and multiple ancillary spaces.

Students can also avail of two Design and Communication Graphics rooms, six science labs, two art/craft rooms, two Home Economics rooms, a technology room, a music room, a textile room, two Construction Studies rooms, and an Engineering room.

The new campus boasts a range of cutting-edge facilities, including a sustainable design with 450m² of PV panels, state-of-the-art technology, and extensive sports facilities, including a PE hall, a fitness suite, an outdoor pitch, and six hard play courts.

Welcoming students this morning to the new school, Principal Liam O'Mahoney said: “Today is a very special day for the whole school community as we welcome both our 6th year and our incoming 1st year students to this amazing new campus. This is the culmination of eight years of planning and development that has delivered these excellent facilities provided by Limerick and Clare ETB”.

He believes that the “state-of-the-art new school campus will benefit both students and staff as we continue to provide high quality innovative teaching and learning in an inclusive and supportive environment, helping our students to achieve academic excellence”.

He thanked the students, parents and guardians, Parents Association, Board of Management, staff members, and the ETB, adding: “Our commitment to all our students will continue to be the key priority as we support their emotional, social and educational development throughout their journey in this new campus."

George O'Callaghan, chief executive, Limerick and Clare ETB, said: "As Mungret Community College embarks on a new chapter, this is a very exciting time for the entire school community. Principal Liam O'Mahoney and the staff have been providing the highest academic standards since its establishment in 2017”.

“I know they will continue to promote the school's values of creativity, innovation and academic excellence at this new campus. The high quality of facilities in the new school are the result of significant government investment and is part of a multi-million euro programme of capital development in ETB community colleges throughout our region," he added.
