In Pictures: Out and about in Limerick for the Christmas Day GOAL Mile

ONE of Ireland's most-popular fundraising traditions returned to locations across Limerick over the festive season.

Supported by AIB, the GOAL Mile saw more than 25,000 people running or walking a mile, at 150 locations in villages, towns and cities across Ireland to raise funds for vulnerable communities across the globe.

In Limerick, hundreds of people completed GOAL Mile runs and walks at one of the five locations across the city and county, including at the University of Limerick Athletics Track on Christmas Day (see picture gallery).

Since 1982, the annual event has seen thousands of people run or walk a mile (2,000 steps) to raise funds for the charity -see goalmile.org for more.
