AFRICAN STREET CHILDRENS PROJECT FUNDRAISER CRAFT NIGHT: This coming Friday, November 22 there will be a Craft Fair in Nats Cafe in Kilmallock. This is the annual fundraiser organised by Imelda O’Riordan nee Garvey, to raise funds towards the African Street Childrens Project. Knits, Candles, Gifts, Jams, Baby Items, Christmas Punch, Mince Pies and lots lots more. All items are handmade and once again your support would be hugely appreciated.
ST. JOSEPHS CONVENT/COLÁISTE IOSAEF 80TH ANNIVERSARY: On Sunday November 24 Colaiste Iosaef, Kilmallock Secondary School will be celebrating their 80th Anniversary of the opening of the school. All past pupils are invited. Proceedings will begin with the celebration of mass at 3.00pm in Kilmallock church, followed by a gathering in the school. The school would appreciate any memorabilia or photos to be handed in or posted to Bridget in reception at Colaiste Iosaef. FRIAR’S GATE THEATRE: The Mid-Night Cowboy with Pius McGrath.
A young man reflects on his life, recalling the outrageous experiences that have moulded the man he has become.On Friday November 22 at 8pm, actor Pius McGrath gives us an insight into what it means to be a male conforming to the norms of society, where characteristics of honour, loyalty and courage can fall to the wayside in favour of meaningless sex and bad male role models.

SOUTHSIDE WHEELY WHEELERS: Southside Wheely Wheelers travelled to Killarney on the weekend for some training and team building. Our social ethos was to the front with many partners of members and non cycling members turning up for a mighty weekend. There was some cycling with a group heading around the lakes with a few of the lads heading up Molls Gap at the end to justify a tipple or three later. Well done guys.
Club gear - We are waiting of delivery of a few bits and pieces for the recent orders of club cycling and casual gear, as soon as we have everything together we will have a gear collection evening and send out a text to all who have ordered to let you know your order is ready. Nearly there folks.
Saturday training continued on Saturday with Liz Leonard there to lead the way on our all ability beginner improver cycle. Even though his two partners in crime Jerry and Sean were flying around the Lakes of Killarney Liz was there to keep this mighty cycle going.
Sunday training took off from Kilmallock and headed for Bruff, Grange, Fedamore, Crecora, Patrickswell, Croom, Athlacca, Bruree and back to Kilmallock for a nice 80 Km. Out cycling were Jerry Herbert, Mark O’Sullivan, James McCarthy, Eugene Manton, Declan McCarthy, Stephen Finn, Brendan Houlihan, Martin Lake, Michael Gammell, Shane O’Brien, Donal Kelly, Brendan Daly and Dave Walsh.
Training continues next week weather permitting with our Wednesday night 6.30 cycle. Saturday training continues at 9.30, this is our all ability beginner/improver cycle where the pace and distance is set by you the cyclist. Sunday at 8.30 is our longer cycle but again with a pace and group for everyone.
Don’t forget the Johnny Walsh cycle takes place on Saturday November 30 and you can register for this event on www.eventmaster.ie under duathlon and Athlacca, Limerick.

KILMALLOCK PASTORAL & RESOURCE CENTRE: Citizens Information Centre is open every Thursday, Friday, Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 10am and 2pm, please note on Fridays until 1.30pm. Thursday November 21 is the Citizens Legal night between 8 and 9pm. The Active age Club continues this Thursday November 21 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, all are very welcome. The Bridge Club continues also tonight November 21 from 7pm until 10.30pm, all welcome. Parent and Toddler group meet on Friday November 22 between 10.30 and 12.30pm and the Kilmallock Youth Club Cinema Evening will take place from7.30pm to midnight. Saturday November 23 from 8pm to 10pm sees the launch of the Kilmallock Journal. On Monday November 25 the Counselling Service is in operation between 10am and 4.30pm. PASTORAL CENTRE CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: Our annual Christmas Bazaar, including a visit from Santa, takes place on Sunday December 1 from 1.00 – 4.30pm. You have always supported us with your generous contributions, bric-a-brac, books, jewellery, cakes, puddings etc. We do not require used toys or clothing. Raffle tickets are currently for sale at the Centre and from many of our supporters. First prize €500.00. Gifts for the Wheel of Fortune will be gratefully received. IRELAND 40 YEAR MEMBERSHIP OF EU CELEBRATION: Ballyhoura Rural Services are hosting an event in Kilbehenny Community Hall on Friday November 22 to celebrate Ireland’s 40 year membership of the EU. Guest speakers include Phil Prendergast MEP and Aidan Gleeson Chairperson of County Limerick IFA. There will be various workshops and exhibits available.
