KNOCKAINEY AFC MATCH REPORTS: Knockainey 2 Lisnagry 2: The B team first home game of the season was against Lisnagry on Wednesday night August 21 this really was a game that we were most unlucky not to come away with the three points bar a ten minute spell either side of half time we were in total control but lady luck was not on our side as against the run of play we went a goal down but credit to the team we came back with two goals from Dave Roche and David O’Grady. We went ahead only for Lisnagry to equalise in virtually last kick of game a peach of a goal from way out on sideline into top corner a goal fit to grace match of the day top ten team lined out Derek Greene, Michael Hickey, Cuan Leahy, Diarmuid O’Dea, Pat Noonan, John Ryan, Lar Small, Dave Roche, Jason Murphy, Cathal Hayes, and David O’Grady.
Knockainey 1 Hospital 1: The B team welcomed Hospital on August 25 and pressed them from the word go but were guilty on more than once in not opening the scoring. After half an hour Hospital opened the scoring through an own goal but the home side finished the stronger and forced a good save from the Hospital keeper and hit the woodwork before half time. The second half saw the home side press more and more, limited the away team to just one chance, kept going right to finish and scored in almost last kick of game through Diarmuid O’Dea
Team: Dave Roche, Michael Hickey Diarmuid O’Dea, Cuan Leahy, Pat Noonan, John Ryan, Alan O’Connell, Lar Small, Jason Murphy, Ian Gilbert, Dave O’Grady, Martin Hickey & John O’Connell.
