AS long as I’m in the fashion industry I don’t think I will ever get used to how quickly we move from one season to the next.

The Rose of Tralee is ready to kick off with one of the biggest autumn/winter fashion shows which will be held in the Dome on August 16. I am very proud to say it is one of the biggest fashion shows in Ireland every year and one of the first autumn/winter fashion shows of the season. It features a range of top Irish designers who have made their mark in the fashion industry around the world as well as some of the best fashion stores in Munster.

If you are looking for what’s new for autumn/winter 2015 in colours and style then the place to be is the Dome in Tralee on August 16.

Tickets are available from www.roseoftralee.ie

I WAS recently in Dublin at the Brown Thomas autumn/winter press launch. It is a press show I really look forward to every year because I know most of the fashion pack in attendance.

It was great to bump into Shelly Corkery, fashion director at Brown Thomas, who really is a fashion icon when it comes to style. I was also chatting to PJ Gibbons, editor of Social & Personal magazine, fashion stylist Cathy O’Connor and John Redmond, creative director of Brown Thomas. It made me so happy and indeed sad at the same time that they all mentioned my beautiful and deceased great friend, fashion designer John McNamara. They sent their love to all of his friends and family. It is times like this that I realise how respected and loved he was in the fashion industry. Meanwhile, the fashion for autumn/winter at Brown Thomas is truly fabulous so happy shopping!
