The Anniversary Mass on next Saturday night, 11th January at 7.30p.m. is for the deceased members of the Quirke Family.
Cead Mile Failte: is extended from the Parishioners of Meanus to Fr. John Daly who has been appointed Parish Priest of Bruff, Grange and Meanus where he has already taken up his duties. Good wishes are also sent to Canon Costello who has served the Parish well for the last sixteen years.
Weddings: During the Christmas holidays two very picturesque weddings took place at St. Mary’s Church, Meanus. On Saturday, 21st December Karen Collins, elder daughter of Dan and Margo, Dunkip married Gabriel Howley, Mayo. The ceremony was performed by Fr. Joe Foley. The chief Bridesmaid was Sarah Collins and the Bridesmaids were Caitriona Heffernan, Sarah Dooley and Lucy Dooley. Peter Howley was bestman and the groomsmen were Vinny Henry, Andrew McNulty and John Burke. Child attendants were Zoey Howley and Dylan Howley. Dara Howley acted as Altar Server. Music was provided by Eve Stafford (Soprano Soloist).
A reception for the happy couple together with their families and friends was held at The Woodlands House Hotel, Adare.
On St. Stephen’s Day, 26th December Orla Coffey, Younger Daughter of Willie and Maureen, Boherageela, Meanus, married Niall Rainsford, son of John and Kaye Rainsford, Caherline. That wedding also took place at St. Mary’s Church, Meanus with Celebrant Fr. Joe Foley. The Bride was attended by her sister Maria Harriman assisted by bridesmaids Eva O Rourke and Linda McArdle. The Junior Bridesmaids were Tara Coffey and Ellen O Neill. The bestman was Patrick Rainsford and the Groomsmen were Patrick Fitzgerald, Michael Moloney and Sean Byrnes Coffey. The Pageboys were Rory Harriman, Robbie McArdle and Fionn O Neill. Music for the ceremony was provided by Dolce. A wedding reception for the Bride and Groom together with their families and friends was held at The Woodlands House Hotel.
GAA News: Camogue Rovers are holding a general club meeting in Meanus Community Centre on this Friday night, 10th January at 7.30 p.m. All members are requested to attend.
