MPCC CREDIT UNION – NOTICE OF AGM: The Board of Directors of MPCC Credit Union would like to advise all members that the AGM takes place on Monday, January 20 at 8.00pm in Ballybrown Community Resource Centre in Clarina. All members are invited and encouraged to attend as you have the right to know about your local Credit Union. Your questions and suggestions are therefore important and always welcome. Refreshments will be served and a draw for members in attendance will take place on the night.
THURSDAY CLUB: The Thursday Club will be back on Thursday, January 16 at the usual time of 11am. The club would like to offer their sympathy to the family of Paddy Ryan of Castleconnell who passed away recently. Paddy was a great member of our club, he was an uncle in law of Tom O’Brien. Paddy will be greatly missed by the members of the club. Paddy was also a great singer, his rendition of South of the Border and many other songs would gladden your heart. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. Get well wishes to members who are ill or in hospital. New members are always welcome at the Club. A happy new year to all.
45 DRIVE: The weekly 45 drive at the Ballybrown Resource Centre has commenced again for 2014. They take place every Thursday night at 8.45pm and you are ensured of a great night out for just €5. The Christmas 45 drive on December 19 was a great success with loads of prizes and we had a great crowd. The winners on the night were Phil Mann and Pat Keogh with James Coughlan and Peter O’Sullivan taken second prize. Gearoid Leonard, Bernie Byrne, Peter Mulqueen and Shay Sweeney win the €50 vouchers in the special draw. Pauline Toomey took first prize of a hamper in the raffle with Keith Coughlan, Kieran McCarthy, James Coughlan, Bridget Lynch, Noreen Cusack, Margaret O’Brien, Ann Reidy, Maura Byrnes and Sean King taking the rest of the prizes. The card winners on Thursday, December 12 were Paddy McCarthy, Bridget Lynch, Mr. & Mrs. Denis Casey, Raymond Sheerin and Billy Shinnors while second prize went to Ger & Michelle Waters and John O’Gorman & Pauline Culhane. Thanks to everyone for their great support and we look forward to seeing some new faces on Thursday January 9. Happy New Year to all concerned.
