Seven Steps: The next seven steps meeting will take place in Castlemahon Sacristy on Monday 15th January 15 at 7. 30pm. All interested in taking part are welcome to attend.
Senior Citizens party: January 26. Preparations are in place for this years Senior Citizens party which will take place in the Red Setter Lounge on Sunday January 26 at 1.30pm. On that Sunday January 26, Bishop Brendan Leahy will celebrate 11am mass in Feohanagh church and will also be attending the senior citizens party at 1.30pm. All senior citizens in the parish are welcome to attend and enjoy the meal and meeting each other throughout the afternoon in the comfortable surroundings as in previous years. If interested in attending, please give your name to either Annette Coughlan or Tom Kennedy as they need numbers to book the meals this year. Looking forward to see everyone there.
Castlemahon present ‘Barndance’ in Feenagh: Following two successful presentations before Christmas and two again on January 3 and 5 in the resource centre Knockaderry, The Feohanagh Castlemahon Players will present the hilarious comedy ‘Barndance’ by John Fraher in the community centre Feenagh on Sunday night next January 12th at 7.45pm. Admission on the night will be €10 per adult and €5 per child.
Kileedy to celebrate St Ita: Wednesday January 15 is the feast day of St Ita and as in previous years and for generations back, the feast day will be celebrated in Kileedy parish and the Holy season of Christmas comes to an end also on that day throughout the Parish. Morning mass will be held in Raheenagh church at 11.30am and evening mass will be held in Ashford church at 7.30pm. Following the evening mass an enjoyable Parish social will be held in the large Raheenagh hall at 9.30pm. Teas and refreshments will be served. Music by P.J Murrihy and admission on the night will be €10. All are welcome to attend on the night.
Self Help Collection: The church gate collection taken up in Feohanagh and Castlemahon Churches on the weekend of December 28/29 was in aid of Self Help Africa and was well supported. Self help Africa has been instrumental in improving living conditions for the extremely poor countries of Africa. A special word of thanks to all who subscribed to the collection and also to the collectors at both churches. The total amount collect was €270.
