SET DANCING CLUB: The West Limerick set dancing club forthcoming event is the Annual Set Dancing Club workshop weekend. This event will run from Friday February 7 to Sunday February 9th at the Devon Inn Templeglantine. The ceili nights will feature Johnny Reidy, Striolan and Taylor’s Cross. SAMARITANS: The Samaritans have a new free to caller phone number 116 123 and are trialing this new number in Limerick city and county and north Tipperary. Because of their very limited budget, the Samaritans are reaching out to as many as possible to distribute details of the number so please highlight same.
CEOL AN GHEIMHRIDH MUNSTER FINAL: The Munster Final of Ceol An Gheimhridh hosted by Cluain Chreadhail branch will be held in Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher on Sunday February 16th.
CEILI: The monthly ceili for Halla Tadhg Gaelach Tournafulla is scheduled for this Friday January 10. Music for the event by Taylor’s Cross to commence at 9:30pm and light refreshments for all so bigi ann.
ST ITA’S: St Ita patron saint of Killeedy feast day is on Wednesday January 15th. A day of devotion and celebration a parish holiday when many a native returns home for the day. The morning mass will be celebrated in Raheenagh by his Lordship Bishop Brendan Leahy. There will be room for all with the Mass being relayed to the nearby Hall and same will commence at 11am. The evening Mass will take place in Ashford for all patrons due to work, school or family commitments were unable to attend the morn Mass. A happy St Ita’s to all.
ADORATION: A 24 hour Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will commence in Raheenagh church after 10am Mass on Tuesday January 14 to Wednesday 15 St Ita’s day concluding at 10am. All town lands will be represented and the schedule is on the notice board at the back of the church and all are welcome.
SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy is tendered to Neilus Herbert on the death of his brother Sean late of Cloncon who died in England on Saturday January 4. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
