CONFIRMATION :. This will begin for all the young people preparing for their Confirmation on Tuesdays 12, 19, 26 November and ends on Tuesday 10 December. 7.30 – 8.30p.m sharp.

MEDITATION: Quiet meditation on Tuesday mornings in 3 Oakton Road, Salesian Srs. house. Time: 10.30 am to 11

SAFEGUARDING GATHERING: We remind anyone in this parish working with young people to ensure they have the necessary permission forms signed by parents / guardians and are familiar with the guidelines.

Copies of these forms can be had from our Parish Office.

There will be a Safeguarding Children Gathering for our Pastoral Area on Thursday 7 November at 7.30p.m. here in our Parish Centre. The new parish Safeguarding Representatives for the 8 parishes will be introduced and we will receive further information on the newly launched Diocesan Safeguarding Children policy and Resources. The following are requested to attend: Priests, Religious Sisters, Sacristans, Pastoral Councils, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Readers of the Word, Choir leaders, Those involved in First Communion and Confirmation programmes, adults in other parish ministry groups involving young people and anyone else interested.

CHURCH GROUNDS: We are very concerned about those young people who loiter on the church grounds and sadly have caused a lot of damage to property. Again we appeal to parents to take responsibility and talk to their children about respect for all property.

TUESDAY SOCIAL CLUB: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland hold a Social Club for people with dementia and their carers, in a supported environment, which takes place each Tuesday morning in the Woodfield House Hotel, between 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 pm. There is no charge to attend and tea and coffee are provided. Please phone Mary at 313456 if you would like to attend, or just call to Woodfield House Hotel on Tuesdays from 11.00 a.m.

ADORATION: 24 hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament St. Nicholas’ Church every week from Thursday 7.30p.m. to Friday 7.30p.m

ST. MUNCHIN’S PARENTS ASSOCIATION AGM: The Annual General Meeting of St. Munchin’s Parents Association will be held in the College this Tuesday 5th November, 2013 at 7.45. Parents of all students in St. Munchin’s College are invited and encouraged to attend. This year there will be a presentation the theme of which is Maintaining Good Mental Health in Teenagers. The Parents Council is the forum for parents to become actively involved in the life of the school attended by their child / children. It is active and vibrant. St. Munchin’s Parents Council warmly welcomes new members from the Parents Association to join us. All parents of students in the College are members of the Parents Association.

VOLUNTEERING IN ZAMBIA: This is an extract from a letter received from the Salesian Sisters in Zambia. If any person is interested please contact Dympna 061 348510 immediately. In fact, we will be opening a Pre-School at City of Hope in January, 2014 and are wondering if perhaps you have two volunteers who would be able to work side by side with the teachers. We need the volunteers for a year, or at least if they can come for three months and if there can be a continuation of other volunteers to replace them. I look forward to hearing from you and really hope that you will find more volunteers for our Mission here at City of Hope.”
