RUGBY: St Senan’s RFC will meet Kinsale on Sunday November 17, the club is thinking of running a bus to the game if enough people are interested. This promises to be a cracker of a game as both clubs are still unbeaten this year and running up big scores. Cost will be €12 a head. First come first served.
The club is holding an evening of darts in the Honk Bar on Friday, November 8. Singles and mixed doubles. The event gets underway at 8.30 and the fee is €5 entry per event. They will have a raffle for 2 premium tickets for Ireland vs New Zealand in Dublin in November; tickets will only be on sale on the night. If you don’t play darts go along anyway for the craic.
SALE OF WORK: The Apostolic Workers will be holding the Annual Christmas Sale of Work in the Comprehensive School on Sunday, November 17.
NEW FLIGHTS: Great to hear the announcement that Ryanair plan to open routes to Berlin, Paris, Fuerteventura, Warsaw, Faro, Munich, Nice and Krakow, with an increase in frequency between Stansted next year . The airport is very quiet at the moment and this is welcome news for the town and surrounding area.
PRESENTATION: A large group of people turned up on Tuesday night at the Library for the presentation by Valerie Sweeney of a number of historical photographs to Clare County Council.
Dúchas na Sionna were also presented with 37 original taped conversations of rare interviews with people associated with the Airport back then, which were used in her book “Shannon Airport A Unique Story of Survival”.

ORDER OF MALTA: The Shannon unit of the Order of Malta will participate in the 11am Mass on Sunday in Mary Immaculate church. The unit is celebrating 41 years of service to the Shannon community, 75 years of service in Ireland.
PASTORAL PLAN: Bishop Kieran will visit the Parish on Thursday November 7 to launch the Pastoral Plan of the Diocese for the Tradaree Cluster of Parishes of Shannon, Newmarket-on-Fergus and Sixmilebridge / Kilmurry. The Ceremony to which all are invited, will take place in SS John & Paul Church at 8pm.
