OPEN MIC POETRY: Please come along to the White House Bar, 52 O’Connell Street, Limerick very Wednesday at 9pm. The White House Bar is transformed into a centre of culture, as poets recite their latest work. Barney Sheehan, behind the revival of poetry at the White House, continues to attract the best of Irish and International poetry to Limerick. The readings have provided an open, supportive venue for countless poets, to perform their work and has fostered a community of poetry. These Readings are preceded by an Open Mic Session in which anyone who wishes to read is invited to do so. Complementary finger food is provided and there is free admission. LIVE EVERY MOMENT FESTIVAL: Please come along to the University Arena, University of Limerick, Castletroy, Limerick for the Live Every Moment Festival on Saturday, August 24. The Live Every Moment Festival will host a variety of fun-filled events for all ages, which are all open to the public. For adults, we have organized a Flag-Football tournament, Zumbathons, Sumo Wrestling & Dress-up-in-Drag races (yes dressing in drag and racing each other over obstacles for charity!) For kids, our events include kid’s zumba, bouncy castles, scavenger hunts, fun runs, races & competitions and all of our kid’s events are altered to accommodate children with special needs so that every child can join in the fun! We have also organized special guest speakers to host seminars/workshops aimed at families of children with special needs, on many of the support systems which are available to them. These include a solicitor that provides free legal aid and a variety of workshops on free therapeutic techniques or organisations, which specialize in kids with special needs of any sort. The aim of this, is that the information available to parents at the Live Every Moment Festival may benefit them for years to come.

Some of our events include: Flag Football Blitz, Zumbathon, Kid’s zumba, Scavenger hunts, Fun runs and races, Dress-up-in-Drag races, Bouncy Castles, Sumo Wrestling, Live Broadcasting from Live 95fm, Mr. Sports Gift Display Stand, Workshops open to the public, for parents and children with special needs and their siblings, Seminars for parents of children with special needs, Night time entertainment, Food available all day from The Sports Bar. There will be accommodation available on campus. Please be sure to listen out for more from the Live Every Moment Festival on Limerick’s local radio stations! The Live Every Moment Festival will benefit charities for children with special needs, which include Dochas (Help for People with Autism), the Clare Crusaders, Healing Horse Ireland and an Anti-bullying charity for school children, which is in the application process.

ST. MARY’S CATHEDRAL: Please come along to St. Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday, September 14 from 9.30am to 12.30pm. ‘Come and meet the Director of the RSCM’ - Andrew Reid, Director of the Royal School of Church Music, who will be visiting Limerick. The session will look at accessible RSCM resources, the work of the RSCM and of course there will be an opportunity to do some singing (music will be provided on the day)! Open to choirs, clergy, individuals, affiliates and non-affiliates.

PILGRIMAGE TO OUR LADY’S SHRINE IN KNOCK: There will be a Pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Shrine, Knock, Co. Mayo on Sunday, September 8. A bus will leave from outside the Salesian Primary School at 8.30am.
