MASS CHANGES: Due to major construction work to St. Munchin’s College, all Masses will be in St. Nicholas’ Church until further notice.
TUESDAY SOCIAL CLUB: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland hold a Social Club for people with dementia and their carer, in a supported environment, which takes place each Tuesday morning in the Woodfield House Hotel, between 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. There is no charge to attend and tea and coffee are provided. Please phone Mary at 313456 if you would like to attend, or just call to Woodfield House Hotel on Tuesdays from 11.00 a.m.
ADORATION: 24 hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament St. Nicholas’ Church will commence again on Thursday 5 September. Each Thursday evening until then there will be adoration until 11.00-p.m..
SCHOOL BOOKS AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS: .We are a Charity based in 72 O’Connell Street and we are looking for people to donate school books Primary, Secondary and Third Level. We are also looking for Primary and Secondary School Uniforms. And any School Accessories that people would like to donate. All donations would be greatly Appreciated. If any members of the public would like to call into our shop looking for school books Primary/Secondary/Third Level or uniforms we are at hand to help.
HEALING MASS: Mass of healing and consolation will be on Thursday 29th August at 7.00p.m.
EVENING OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: To mark Fr Johnny Daly’s time with us in St Nicholas’ Parish, there will be a mass of celebration in St Nicholas’ Church , Westbury, on Saturday August 31st at 7.00pm This will be followed by light refreshments in the Parish Centre. All parishioners are invited, and as this is Fr Johnny’s last weekend with us here in this parish, your presence would be appreciated.
CONGRATULATIONS: Congrats to all the Leaving Cert students who received their results last week. We pray for them as they embark on the road that lies ahead for each of them. May God bless them as they face new challenges, and new adventures.
VOLUNTEERING WITH VIDES Ireland: If any person between 20 and 40 years of age would like to experience life on the Missions for at least six weeks during 2014 please contact Sr. Dympna (061 348510) who co-ordinates VIDES Ireland—an NGO developed by the Salesian Sisters to offer young people an opportunity to experience life in a Third World country. A mission in Assam, India would love Volunteers from February onwards.
MILFORD HOSPICE HARVEST FAIR: This year it is scheduled to take place Sunday 1st September . The Fair is moving to a new location this year and is taking place at the U.L Arena. The Harvest fair Committee once again appeal to you for support in donating goods such as clothes, books, toys, bric-a-brac. All goods this year will be checked for quality before being accepted in order to minimise the costs involved in disposal of unsalable items. Items for the Harvest Fair will be accepted on the grounds of Milford Care Centre from Mon 19th August to Thursday 29th, thereafter ONLY confectionary will be accepted on the grounds of U.L. on the day of the Harvest Fair. MISSING TEENAGER: Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing a missing Nenagh teenager, who was last seen in Limerick. 16-year-old Catherine O’Connell from Carrig Rua in Nenagh was last seen in the Castletroy area on Tuesday the 18th of June last. Catherine is described as being 5 foot 8 inches in height, of slim build and has long brown hair. She was wearing a pink and black tracksuit top and matching bottoms. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardaí. Our5 missions in Zambia are always looking for volunteers.
