Our Graveyard maintenance crew were out with their strimmers during the week and did a clean up of Kilcornan and Castletown Cemeteries. Our thanks to all the volunteers who do this work.
SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to the family of Davy Broderick Ballymartin, who died recently. He is survived by brother Francis, sisters Maisie Griffin and Eileen Gough, sister in law Peg, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was laid to rest in Kilcornan on Wednesday after Requiem Mass at St. John the Baptist Church.
FR. MICHAEL MURPHY APPEAL FOR UNUSED SECOND HAND LAPTOPS: Fr. Michael Murphy (Kilcornan and Nigeria) would like to express his thanks to all those who donated their unused laptops for his school in Nigeria in 2012.
He has an on-going requirement for a quantity of unused second hand laptops which can be used for training purposes in his school in Nigeria.
He would gratefully appreciate it, if any such laptops could be donated so that he can take them to Nigeria on his return at the end of August.

CURRAGHCHASE CROSS ROADS DANCING: Curragh Chase Cross is the place to be for a Guerin’s Platform ‘gathering’ on Sunday September 1. Pat O’Connell will conduct the dances to the music of one-man band of Michael Sexton. We look forward to seeing you there for a wonderful afternoon of entertainment between 3 and 6 pm.
CYCLE: Cliona’s Foundation Cycle, now in its sixth year will take place on Saturday August 31 leaving from the Honeyfitz Theatre, Lough Gur.With three routes this year including an 8km for family and funsters (fee €25 the organisers have appealed to experienced cyclists with a challenging 90km route (fee €30.00) and a less arduous 40km route (€30.00) for leisure cyclists. Following the cycle there’s a BBQ, face painting, music and bouncy castle to keep the entire family entertained. Registration online at www.eventmaster.ie.
