CHURCH READERS: The following are the readers at masses this weekend, Pauline Frewen the 7pm on Saturday evening, and Mary O’ Sullivan at the 10am on Sunday morning.
GROTTO MASS: The annual mass in Bishop Murphy park on the evening of August 14 had to transfer to the church, as the weather turned rather wet outdoors prior to mass time.
GRAVEYARD MASS: The mass for the deceased will be celebrated in the graveyard on the hill of Ardpatrick on this Sunday August 25th at 2pm. The Graveyard committee have been working all week to have the place in good condition. If the weather is unsuitable the mass will be celebrated in the parish church
BOOK SALES: Ardpatrick Remembered, the book recently launched is selling very well in the general area, people are very pleased with the information content and the photographs are also quite interesting.
To repeat again copies of the book are available at Murphy’s Service Station, Centra, Kilfinane, Beechinors filling and McCarthy’s Grocery, Kilmallock, in the Sacristy after mass and from members of the Community Council, price is €12.
EXAM RESULTS: Congratulations to all the students who achieved good results in the Leaving Cert, results of which were delivered last week, best wishes in further study in 3rd level.
CASTLE OLIVER: Good numbers of people visited Castle Oliver over the past weekend, being Heritage Week, the castle and grounds were open to the public, this continues this week up to Sunday 25, gates open 11am to 4pm, first guided tour at 12 noon, also 2 and 4 pm. Tours will be every hour if there is demand over the weekend.
The charge is €10 per adult, children €4, family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children €26, tour lasts about 1 hour.
COLLECTION: Last weekends church gate collection in aid of Tidy Towns amounted to €299.35, down on previous years as so many people had gone to support Limerick hurlers.
WALKS: Balylhoura Bears have an evening walk on this Thursday at 7.30, meet in Donnerale Town, contact 087-6887977.
