Saturday 10th August: 1.00 p.m. Historical Walk to Sliabh Riadh geared towards all walkers with Morgan Murphy starting at the Church in Glenbrohane. Transport available for those unable to walk the full distance. Cup of tea and use of facilities at The Old School after walk. MARTINSTOWN N.S. REUNION: Martinstown National School are holding a reunion for past pupils on 6th July 2013. There will be mass offered for all deceased past pupils at 8pm in Martinstown Church followed by a gathering in the Cosy Kitchen Bar, Elton. All past pupils are welcome for a night of meeting old friends, reliving old memories, chit chat and storytelling. There will also be light refreshments available on the night. Knockainey’s Annual Village Festival: takes place from Wed 26th June until Sunday 30th June, There is something for everyone.
Wed 26th June 7:30pm: Parish walk. A ramble through Knockainey, guided by a local resident. History, stories and lovely views! Refreshments and maybe a song or two afterwards in Jack Lynch’s pub at the top of the hill.
Thurs 27th June 7:30pm: Tour of St John’s Graveyard, with launch of graveyard tour leaflet. Cheese and wine reception. 9:45pm Bat walk/talk
Fri 28th June 8pm: The Gathering concert in the Community Centre. Presented by local people, this concert takes us on a musical tour around Ireland. Music afterwards in Jacks.
Sat 29th June 11am: 5 and 10 km fun run/walk, starting from Community Centre.
3pm: Sports activities, including underage hurling at the Sportsfield.
6 pm: Senior hurling match.
