Recent Death: The death has occurred of Breda Kennedy (nee Russell), Deerpark, Shronell, wife of the late John F, (ESB). Removal took place from Whelan’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Assumption, Lattin, where the following day’s Requiem Mass was celebrated. Burial took place in Shronell Cemetery. She is survived by her son John, daughters Katherine, Eileen and Mary, sisters, son-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Cemetery Masses: Weather permitting, masses will be celebrated in the four parish cemeteries a 8 pm on the following dates: Tuesday, June 18, in Cullen; Wednesday, June 19, in Shronell; Tuesday, June 25, in Mount Bruis; Wednesday, June 26, in Lattin.
Soccer: Cullen-Lattin ladies team defeated Celtic A by 2 – 1 in last Thursday evening’s league match in Aisling Park. The home goals were scored by Mary Rose Hourigan and Chloe O’Brien.
Lattin Tennis Club: Our Tuesday Tournaments are back! Come along for tennis each Tuesday night from 7pm to 8.30pm; ages 8-11 and 12-14 years only. All players must be members and payment can be made on any Tuesday night. Cost of tournament entry is €2 per person.
Kids Coaching: Our Saturday morning coaching commenced last Saturday. Ages 4-10 years are welcome from 10.30 to 12 for €2.
Adult Tournaments: Play continues on our mixed doubles tournament. Please ensure all matches are played this week.
Votes of Sympathy: Lattin Tennis Club wish to send a vote of sympathy to the Martin family on the recent death of Maureen. Maureen was an active member of the club for many years, everyone will remember her fun and gentle manner both on and off the tennis court. May she Rest in Peace.

Lattin Ladies GAA: The club’ Under 12’s played Cahir and Aherlow last week in the second round of the championship. Well done to Pat and his fellow selectors and Emer Quirke and Lara O’Dwyer who were both on the Tipperary panel in last Saturday’s All-Ireland semi-final against Leitrim in Birr. The All-Ireland Final against Wexford is fixed for two weeks time. The Under 14s play Moyle Rovers in a County Final this Thursday, June 13, at 7.30 pm in New Inn. If you are free and the nice weather continues, please come out and support all the girls.
Rural Regeneration: As part of Ireland’s EU Presidency and with funding support from the Arts Council Local Partnership Scheme and the INTERREG funded Green and Blue Futures project, Inspiring Rural Creativity is an exciting collaborative project between partners from South Tipperary, Wicklow, Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
The project is culminating with a series of events including a public showcase, seminar and networking event on Friday, June 28th in Burncourt Community Hall, Cahir. The events will be hosted by South Tipperary Rural Arts Group as part of their first International Festival of Rural Arts and Culture in conjunction with the other partners, the Arts Office of South Tipperary County Council, Artlands, Voluntary Arts Ireland, Fragments International Ensemble (UK/Ireland) and the Night Out Scheme/Arts Council of Wales.
Thus event will see speakers from Northern Ireland, Wales and across the Republic present innovative examples of initiatives which tackle the issues of arts and cultural promotion and provision in rural areas and its role in regenerating our society.
