PASTORAL COUNCIL: Kilcornan Parish is a member of Pastoral area known as Tuath Phadraig Naofa which stretches along the Shannon Estuary. There are eight parishes in our Pastoral Area: Askeaton/Ballysteen, Cappagh, Coolcappa/Kilcolman, Glin, Kilcornan, Kildimo/Pallaskenry, Loughill/Ballyhahill, and Shanagolden/Foynes/Robertstown.
The parishes are mutually supportive; in particular back-up is provided in the absence of a priest from one of the parishes. The Priests of our Pastoral Area have a system in place, so that there is always a Priest available. Michael Bourke from Ballysteen was recently appointed Chairperson of this pastoral group. The Eolas notice is on the Church noticeboard and gives information on various courses etc. in the Diocese. Any Pastoral information is available from the Pastoral Centre, Denmark Street, Limerick.
Facing into the Winter, or indeed at any time, if anyone in the Community cannot attend Mass but would like to receive Communion in their home please contact Ita at 0872351237 or Ann at 0876218671 and they will arrange suitable times for a visit or, if you wish, leave your name in the Sacristy.
SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to the family of Eileen Fennell née Shine, Kilbreedy, late of Tarbert, County Kerry, who died on the October 13 at Caherass Nursing Home. She is survived by son Tom, daughter Ann, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was laid to rest in Kilcornan, after Requiem Mass at St John the Baptist Church, Kilcornan, on Wednesday October 16 at 12.00pm.
HALLOWEEN: Screaming out to all Halloween Ghouls, bring your bones to Kilcornan Community Centre on Friday October 25, from 7 to 9pm.
You must bring a grown up to join in the fun and take you home when all is done.

COMMUNITY GAMES: Kilcornan Community Games Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday October 21, 2013 at 8.30 pm in the Community Centre. We would like to invite and encourage all parents to attend and get involved in Kilcornan Community Games.
FANCY DRESS: Coach Inn (The Kilcornan House) will play host to the 2nd Annual Kilcornan AFC Fancy Dress with a live Draw for a €1000. This year DJ Evan will play from early to late. A great night was had last year and this year promises to be even better, with prizes for best fancy dress and a raffle for super spot prizes its sure to be an unbelievable night of entertainment.
Tickets for the €1000 draw are available now at €5 per ticket. Bring this ticket on the night and enter the fancy dress for just another €5. COFFEE MORNING: A Coffee Morning will be held at Caring for Carers Centre, I John’s Street, Limerick, on Friday, 18th October from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
FUN NIGHT: Kilcornan Community Centre is the venue for a Fun Night on Thursday October 17, commencing at 8.15pm. Among the entertainment listed is Padini the Clown followed by an upcycling presentation by Breda McKeon. Entry fee €10 which includes tea and coffee. Bí linn agus Fáilte.or more information.
