RETIREMENT: On this Friday night in Ashford church at 8pm a special Mass will be celebrated to mark the retirement of Mary Forde as clerk of Ashford church. All are welcome to this event and afterwards all are welcome to join Mary and her family at the Hall in Raheenagh for light refreshments music, song and dance. Be there and make it a night to remember for Mary an excellent clerk down through the years.
CHURCH AFFAIRS: The mass reader for Raheenagh Mass this Saturday evening is Michael Cunningham with Eucharistic Ministers Ann Fitzmaurice and Breda Begley and basket collector Michael Begley. The mass reader for Sunday morning Mass in Ashford is Phyllis Nelligan with Eucharistic Minister Mike Deely and Catherine Begley and basket collector Aidan Forde. The Mass server commencing her week this Sunday is Victoria Shanahan Cloncon.

W.L. CLUB: The next ceili night organised by the West Limerick set dancing club will take place on Sunday July 14th at The Railway Bar Abbeyfeale. The night will commence at 9:30pm when the Ui Bhrians will take to the stage. All are welcome to trip along to same.
CEILI: The last ceili before the Summer recess at Halla Tadhg Gaelach Tournafulla will take place on this Friday from 9:30pm to 1am. Music for the event is by Johnny Reidy with cupan tae agus ceapairi. Bigi ann.
CARBOOT: The indoor market and car boot sale for July is scheduled for Sunday 7th from 9am to 3pm at the Community Centre Newcastle West. Admission is €2 and all children are free. This is a fundraiser for the local community radio and further details from Marian on 087-6866450.
MONTESSORI: The Montessori school in Ashford will hold its annual open day on Wednesday June 19th from 10am to 12 noon. All parents welcome especially all with a view to enrolment as this Montessori is a home from home. All are welcome.
ALL IRELAND NUN’S RACE: As part of the Gathering celebrations in Abbeyfeale July 15-21 the All Ireland nun’s race will commence at 8:00pm on Monday July 15th and travel from the Town Park into the Square. Organiser Shane O’Connell says ‘Keep the Faith and run the Race’ and tells us that the race will be followed by a world record attempt of most nuns doing the Harlem Shake! Entries welcome. HARVEST FAIR: The annual Milford Hospice Harvest Fair takes place on Sunday September 1st. The venue this year is the U.L. arena in the U.L. campus only a ten minute walk from Milford Care Centre and all support and donations appreciated for this worthy cause.
VINTAGE RALLY: Dromcollogher Fair and Vintage Rally is scheduled to take place on Sunday June 23rd. All events will kick off at 1:30pm. Note the centre is still collecting all suitable items.
CLUB DRAW: Killeedy G.A.A. will once again be holding their annual Club Draw to commence on the weekend of 15th June. This is the clubs main fundraiser each year and is vital for the day to day running of the club. They would like to thank everyone who has supported the draw in the past and hope you will continue to support again this year. KNOCK: Newcastle West branch of St Joseph’s young priests Society invite all member’s, family and friends for their annual Society’s Pilgrimage to Knock which is scheduled for Saturday June 22nd. LOUGH DERG: As this is the year of faith why not journey to Lough Derg a sacred place where pilgrims have gathered for over 1,000 years and you too can celebrate your faith with people from all over Ireland. The dates are from Tuesday July 2nd-4th and also Friday July 26th-28th.
ST ITA’S: The A.G.M of St Ita’s A.F.C will take place on Friday July 12th. Any nominations for positions in the club or motions for discussions at the A.G.M. should forward same to the club secretary Catherine Lynch before July 5th.
SUMMER CAMP: Following a recent meeting it was agreed to reschedule the Summer Camp and it will now run on Friday 26th July from 9:30am to 2pm, Saturday 27th July from 10am to 2pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 3pm.
