Let’s hope this Bingo event gets plenty of support as lots of people in the town would like to see a regular Bingo sessions.

CAMOGIE 10K/5K: Please support Wolfe Tones Camogie Club by taking part in the annual 10k/5k Run/Walk on Sunday April 14. Athletes can register on www.runireland.ie or on the morning of the run from 10.30am in the clubhouse.

BABY REFLEX CLASSES: Starting in the Leisure Centre this Thursday April 4 from 10 to 11.15am.

EASTER FOOD: As part of the tradition of Holy Saturday which the Polish community has brought to the parish, large numbers gathered in SS John & Paul church at midday on Holy Saturday for the Blessing of Easter Food –which Fr. Dariusz Pląsek, the Polish Chaplain in the Diocese of Killaloe, celebrated.

DAWN MASS: On Easter Sunday morning despite the early hour and cold weather crowds of parishioners joined together to celebrate mass as dawn broke over Illaunamanagh.

BOXING: Shannon Boxing club is currently recruiting male and female members to their club based in Smithtown. The club is open to children aged eight and over, youths and adults.

GOSPEL CHOIR: The Shannon Gospel Choir will participate at the 6.30pm vigil mass on this Saturday evening.

FANCY DRESS 5K: St Conaire’s National School will be holding a fancy dress 5K family walk/run on Friday April 12 at 6pm

SET DANCING: The St Senan’s Social club continue to hold their set-dancing classes in the Bellsfort Inn every Tuesday nights at 8.30pm. Everyone is welcome, beginners and advanced.

HOLY WATER: Over the weekend 3,500 bottles of Easter Holy Water, blessed at the Easter Vigil are available in both churches.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS: Following the recent survey in Shannon (6 primary schools) and three primary schools in the surrounding area, it seems that one of the 9 primary school is set to be stripped of its Catholic Church patronage, presumably one of the Shannon schools! Despite the majority of those questioned in Clare’s second town stating they were in favour of the status quo.

CLARE CUP: In Division 1B Wolfe Tones met Ruan in the first round of the Clare Cup at home on Monday afternoon . Wolfe Tones beat Ruan 3.9 to 1.11

EASTER GARDENS: Parishioners are being asked to bring their children to see the Easter Garden in the churches and share the story of Easter.

FIRST FRIDAY: The sick and housebound in the parish will be visited with the sacraments and if anyone knows of any parishioner who is housebound and who would like to receive the sacraments, please contact the Parish Office or any of the Priests.

An additional mass will be held in Convent Oratory at 8am on Friday morning.

TROCAIRE: So far this Lent €12,000 has been collected for Trocaire. Many thanks for all who have returned their Trocaire boxes. Contributions and the return of boxes are still welcome.

PARISH MISSION: A Parish Mission with Sr. Briege McKenna will start on Pentecost Sunday 19

May and conclude on Friday 24 May. Prayer cards were distributed over the weekend and parishioners were asked to pray for the success of the mission over the next 50 days. Starting on Monday night a conducted Hour of Prayer will be held each Monday night from 8pm-9pm in the Adoration Chapel to pray for the Mission.

DIVINE SUNDAY: Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday and devotions will take place in Mary Immaculate Church at 3pm and in Ennis Cathedral at 2pm.

MONTHS MIND: The following Months Mind masses will be held over the weekend, in SS John & Paul church this weekend the 6.30pm on Saturday for Sadie Rocks, Belfast and Delginis. On Sunday at 10am for Josie Finlay, Tullyvarraga Hill and the 12.15pm for Louie Byrne, Inis Ri.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY: The First Anniversary mass on Sunday at 11am in Mary Immaculate church for Sean Ryan, Gort Road.

RECENT DEATHS: Sympathy to Bridget Frawley, Lios Rua on the death of her mother Delia Hogan, Barefield. To Annette Quinn, Allen Park on the death of her mother Elizabeth Joyce, Limerick. To Gabriel Nunes, Gleann an Oir on the death of his mother Lidia Maria Nunes, Capetown, South Africa.
