Recent Deaths: The death took place on 21st March in New York of Michael Hickey (formerly of Bilboa), brother of the late Willie and sister of Nancy Gleeson. He is survived by wife, Bridie, son,John , daughter Deirdre , relatives and friends. Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, Cappamore at a later date.

The death was also announced of Teresa Whyte in Mitchelstown on 27th March. She formerly resided in Parochial House with her brother Fr. William Whyte PP. She is survived by her sisters and family . Funeral service and burial took place in her native Borrisoleigh.

Cookery Classes: Cookery classes are commencing in the Community House, Mullally Lawn on Friday 12th April at 10.00a.m. Cost per participant is €2 per class. These monies will be used to cover ingredient costs. Classes will continue for 6 – 8 weeks and are being funded by Co. Limerick VEC. Contact 061 – 381650 to register your interest.

Daycare Centre: In the week prior to Easter Sunday the centre was an array of Spring colour with all the clients wearing their Easter bonnets. The centre will re-open after the short recess on Monday 8th April.

Art Exhibition: An Art Exhibition of local artists’ work is now open at the Aisling Art Gallery, “New Bridge”. Doon Road, Cappamore. The exhibition contains the works of Michael O Brien, Fionnuala O Connell, Thomas(Tossie) Gough, Mark Duffy, Deirdre Humphries and Frank Duffy. ICA: Cappamore Guild of the ICA have qualified for the Drama Finals which will be held in Kilcornan Community Hall on Friday 12 April at 8.15p.m. They will compete against the guild from Ballyhahill/Loughill. Pallaskenry ICA set dancers will then give a demonstration of their skills. Information on ICA will also be available on the night. Everybody welcome. Bí Linn agus Fáilte.

Cappamore Celtic FC: Thanks to everyone who participated in the sponsored walk at the weekend. The turnout was excellent and some cards have yet to be collected. The support shows that we are turning to be a family orientated club. Could all managers please give one last push to their players to bring in their cards and money. This Walk will now be the main fundraiser for the underage teams in our attempt to make each team self funding.

We would also like to say how very grateful we are to Eric Liu , owner of “Eric’s Famous Food” for sponsoring a set of jerseys for Cappamore Celtic’s Junior A team.

Alternative Table Quiz: Boher Macra will be hosting a Charity Alternative Table Quiz on Friday 12 April in Hanlys’ Pub, Boher at 8 p.m.€20 per table of 4. Proceeds will go to Clions’a Foundation for critically ill children. More information on our facebook page.
