COMMUNITY GAMES:This week we extend our congratulations to all who were involved at the National Finals in Athlone last weekend. We are a small Area and our ambition is always to compete at all times whether we win or lose. But on the odd occasion it is nice to win and that explains why last weekend was such a wonderful weekend for our Area. In total 9 gold medals were brought home by winning the Drama/Comedy and our 3 representatives in Judo all winning gold. The successful children were as follows; Dylan and Robbie Holmes, Sean McCarthy, Jade Mullane, Brian O Grady, Eoghan and Aisling O’ Dea and Niamh O’ Dea. Well done to Alan Dwane who participated in the Boys U/16 Art Final but wasn’t amongst the medal winners. Alan will be of age again next year for this event and will have benefited from the experience. Many thanks to our Drama Manager John Mullane and Judo Manager Jim for all their work and commitment and indeed to the adults and youth members from our Area who spent the entire weekend in Athlone helping out.
Many thanks to all who supported our recent Cake Sale and especially to all who handed in cakes, buns, etc.
