FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Nine children received their First Holy Communion in St. Patrick’s Church, Tournafulla on Saturday last. It was a lovely ceremony thanks to the children, the parents, the teachers, Fr. O Gorman and all who helped in any way. The children who received the sacrament were: Aine Roche, Angel Brosnahan, Louise McNamara, Lucy Collins, Adam Leen, Jack Culhane, Jamie Dore, John Long and Kieran O’Callaghan. CÉILÍS: The West Limerick Set Dancing Club will hold a céilí in the Courtenay Lodge Hotel in Newcastle West on Friday night, May 31, beginning at 9 p.m. Music by Johnny Reidy. All are welcome. The final céilí before the summer break will take place in Halla Tadhg Gaelach on Friday, June 14. Music by Johnny Reidy. Dancing 9.30 – 1.00. Refreshments served.
CARDS: The winners of last weeks card game with 12 games were Bridget Gray and Michael Jackson. Second with 9 games each were Peggy & Moss O’Riordan and Denis Ahern & Tony Kelly. The table prize winners were Theresa & Willie O’Brien, Aeneas Forde & Billy Phillips and Bridget O’Connor & Eddie Roche. Raffle winners were Mike Scanlan, Jer Collins, John O’Shea and Margaret O’Regan.
TIDY TOWNS: The adjudication season for the Tidy Towns is fast approaching. Already people have begun painting, cutting lawns and hedges and making their homes and environs more pleasing to the eye. We ask you to keep up the good work and by all the people working together we will increase our marks once again. Tournafulla is set in the valley of the Allaghaun and has the potential to reach the top.
