OPERATION MORE or LESS: At a Race Night in aid of “ Calcutta Calling ” at the Woodlands Hotel , Adare on Friday night last Margaret O’Brien and John Michael Cosgrove of “ Operation More or Less “, presented a cheque for €2000 to Fr Pat Hogan. This money was raised during a sponsored slim, that a thirty strong group from Ballybrown took part in from September 21 to December 21, 2012. The group weighed in at 2907Kg’s and weighed out at 2824Kg’s, showing a total loss of eighty three kilos. They lost the pounds and converted them into Euros in the process. Many thanks to all who took part over the thirteen weeks. A Limerick group of seventeen people under Fr Pat are travelling to Calcutta on Friday January 25. James and Jane Kennedy, Brian Hartigan, Ian Burke, Jim O’Farrell and Charlie Coughlan, all from Ballybrown, are travelling with this group, and we wish them the best of luck on their trip.
Operation More or Less will be commencing another slim during the forthcoming Lenten season. We will kick off with the weigh in on Friday February 1 in the Ballybrown GAA Clubhouse at 7.30pm. All are welcome and you can contact Willie Ryan @ 0872336910 if interested.
